Eric Moo - Our Journey Through 40 Years Concert

Eric Moo’s musical journey has quietly spanned 40 years, transforming him from a guitar-strimming youth into an irreplaceable Mandopop powerhouse. On January 3, 2027, at 8:00 PM, the Mandopop King will return to the city that ignited his creative spark for his Eric Moo - Our Journey Through 40 Years Concert at the Resorts World Sentosa Convention Centre. More than just a high-calibre audio visual feast, this exclusive event serves as a nostalgic reunion for Singaporeans, tracing his musical growth in the Lion City through a meticulously curated repertoire.

Moo's career began in the 1980s during the campus-led "Xinyao" (新摇) movement. Long before streaming platforms, he and his classmates formed the band "Subway" (地下铁), writing songs in school canteens. In 1983, his self-composed track “Encounter” (邂逅)topped the charts with zero promotion, capturing the innocence of first love and establishing his name locally. This success paved the way for iconic Xinyao classics like “Qing Gan Lian Luo Zhan” (情感联络站), Meng Zhong Ren(梦中人), Nian Qing De Xin(年轻的心), and Wo Men Shi Zui Hao De Peng You (我们是最好的朋友), which became defining cultural assets of that generation.

His distinctive voice and song-writing talent soon caught the attention of the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), launching a golden era of television soundtracks. Moo composed and performed hit themes etched into the DNA of local viewers, most notably for the 1985 mega-drama The Coffee Shop [ 咖啡屋(咖啡乌)] —Singapore's first local series to break a million viewers. Its tracks, including the bustling opening theme Kopi-O, the warm “Qing Gan Lian Luo Zhan” (情感联络站), and the poignant “Yi Wang Guo Qu” (遗忘过去), echoed through every HDB flat. He followed this with the historic theme for the 1988 epic [Kreta Ayer People] (牛车水人家) and its sub-theme “Friendship Hidden Deep in the Heart” (情谊藏心底), alongside soundtracks for [The Samurai’s Destiny]. These songs became enduring cultural symbols, cementing his household popularity and defining the collective memory of an era.

Capitalizing on his local success, Moo ventured overseas and took the Chinese-speaking world by storm with his explosive "Moo-style love songs." This peak era produced timeless, chart-topping Asian classics like “Ai Qing Kui Lei” (爱情傀儡), and “Hong Cheng Lai Qu Yi Chang Meng(” (红尘来去一场梦), “Deng Ni Deng Dao Wo Xin Tong” (等你等到我心痛), “Ni Shi Wo De Wei Yi” (你是我的唯一), and “Ai Na Meng Zhong” (爱那么重). Evolving from a local talent into an irreplaceable King of Love Songs, his music became interwoven with the life stories of countless fans across the region.

Moo has sentimentally noted that performing in Singapore always feels like coming home to family. This concert is a dedicated gift to Singaporeans, bridging the memories of campus Xinyao, golden television eras, and his international peak. On January 3, 2027, join Eric Moo at Resorts World Sentosa to retrace this extraordinary 40-year journey together.
